Brayden's Smile Roars On

Love never ends

Keeping Brayden's Smile Roaring On

Brayden's Smile Roars On Foundation exists to honor Brayden's life by transforming unimaginable loss into acts of kindness, community support, and hope for families experiencing sudden child loss.

Who he was

Brayden's story

Brayden Miles Mio was a 22-month-old whirlwind of a person. He had a laugh that started in his belly and a smile that took over his whole face, the kind that made strangers in restaurants smile back before they knew why.

He was goofy on purpose. He'd load up a fork with mac and cheese, grin at you, and wait for the laugh before he ever took a bite. He loved books before bed, animals of every size, Disney songs at full volume, and dinosaurs most of all. He'd stomp across the living room roaring at the top of his lungs, thrilled that he could be that loud.

He was curious about everything. Bubbles. Light switches. The dog's ears. Every day was a discovery, and he wanted you right there next to him for all of it.

Then one ordinary bedtime, bath, pajamas, books, kisses, the same as a hundred nights before, changed everything. Brayden went to sleep and didn't wake up. There was no warning. Nothing anyone did wrong. Just a healthy, happy little boy, and then a silence no family should ever have to hear.

"We can't change what happened. But together we can change what happens next for another family."

Where we're headed

What we're building this year

We don't set targets for how many families we'll help, because we would never wish this on anyone. Instead, here's the work we're putting in place so that help is ready the moment it's needed.

  • A funded assistance program

Money set aside and ready, so a grant goes out in days rather than weeks.

  • Our first Annual Walk

A morning together in Connecticut for the children we miss.

  • Kindness projects in motion

Dino toy drops at parks and birthday cake boxes for food pantries.

  • SUDC awareness

Helping people learn what sudden unexplained death in childhood actually is.

  • A trusted care network

Grief counselors and peer groups we can hand a family to warmly.

The Brayden's Smile Annual Walk

One morning a year, we fill a park with families, strollers, dinosaur costumes, sidewalk chalk, and a whole lot of laughing. We walk for the children we miss and for the families still finding their footing. Everyone is welcome, you don't need to have known Brayden to walk for him.

Community kindness

One act of kindness creates another

Our kindness projects aren't aimed at any one group. They're small, random, joyful surprises for whoever finds them, because that's exactly what Brayden did to a room.

  • One act of kindness

Someone brought us dinner without asking. That single act carried us through a night we couldn't carry ourselves.

  • Creates another

We pass it on, to the next family, the next neighbor, the next stranger who needed a good surprise today.

  • And love multiplies

That's the whole idea. Brayden's smile keeps traveling, one small good thing at a time.

What that looks like

  • Little dinosaur toys tucked around parks for kids to find
  • Birthday cake boxes donated to local food pantries
  • Coffees, notes, and small surprises left for strangers
  • Your idea, we would genuinely love to hear it
